I had to reinstall certain parts of y hardware as I used to do before. But this time a problem has occurred and I must say that I’m almost desperate. SO, I had t install a DVD writer and before that to remove the old one, but I apparently made a wrong step during unplugging ad plugging it back again to the HDD. Now I can’t boot the system. What to do?

What comes to my mind after your description is that possibility that you really haven’t plugged all the wires back properly. I hope that you know how that is supposed to look. If you know, then open your PC case and check whether every wire is in its place. If you’re sure about that, then try to check those “slave” and “master” options and check how the old DVD is set and adjust those settings to be same n your new HDD. I reckon hat this will solve the problem. All this is in case that you haven’t broken or damaged something. That’ why I don’t think that people should install hardware on their own.
