I used the Windows recovery disk to restore my Dell laptop HDD, but now I can’t start it up! I don’t know what’s wrong, but I get the following message: “NTLDR is missing, press Ctrl+Alt+Del”. How do I get it to work? It’s a Seagate SATA drive, 150 GB. TIA!

I don’t know how this could be related to the resotre setup, but with the drive you have, try getting the latest drivers for the HD. Also, you may need to flash your BIOS too. You should be able to find both the updates on your laptop manufacturer’s website (I don’t know which it is, but I’m guessing it’s something like dell.com).

Your file system is corrupted. Try to get the recovery Cd and repair the windows. If you will format then all your data will be lost. The best possible way to recover your data is to use some data recovery software. You can try out Stellar Phoenix Windows stellarinfo.com.
It is a file & partition recovery utility that helps you in recovering your all important data lost after accidental format, virus problems, software malfunction, file/directory deletion, or even a sabotage!
You can download the demo version from: stellarinfo.com/partition-recovery.htm |
