Hello! I have noticed that, when I bought new hard drive, on its top was written that its buffer size is 8 MB. Well, I do not know what the buffer size is and for what purpose it is used. I have, also, found that some hard drives have 16 MB buffer size. Can you explain me this little bit more? Thanks!
Hello! It is correct that some hard drives have 8 MB and the others 16 MB buffer size. Buffer size is actually memory on hard drive which is used to store data on hard drive before hard drive writes them. As you can suppose so, hard drives with 16 MB of buffer size can store twice more data then others with 8 MB.
