| Hi. My Norton antivirus just detected and deleted something named like HackTool. I do not know what this is. Is it some kind of tool that some hacker can place to your computer and use it for hacking purposes when ever wants? If anyone knows about, please tell me, I wouldn’t like the fact that someone can enter my computer. |

Hello. This is what I found about Hack tools at Symantec site, and some more security related. These are programs actually used by hackers for various purposes. What these can do is e.g. port scanning, scanning computer vulnerability and exploits such. Can misuse your network connection, steal passwords and store it locally. This includes mail spammers and news group flooders. These programs are generally considered nonviral and are not harmful, meaning destructive, but can be dangerous to a victim of the attacks done from infected computer. I hope this made you make somehow more clear image of what these programs do.

|

Hi, I have Windows XP, and run the NAV and it indicates that I have Hacktool and shows the path they are in. But it does not allow me to delete them. I have scan the computer in Safe mode, and the same message appears : " hacktool cannot be removed from an unsupported file. Remove failed " They are residing in my C drive in Window Removal Tool folder.
Does anyone know how to remove them? Thanks. |
