This HP is definitely a joke. P4 CPU with 512 MB of ram inside. P4 @ 3.2 ghz. Was so precious on TV when I took it, and now, Sims 2 is a demand for it. I have a friend that plays this game on Celeron @ 2.0 with the same amount of ram memory installed, desktop computer, and nothing weird happens during the game. In my case, I can't even create a family. It crashes even then. So? What to do about this? How to stop these random surprises?

Heat. Or more RAM memory is needed. Do you have two or one ram module inside? Maybe there is some fault memory segment on RAM chip. It happens during time. Or it is just incompatible with your notebook. You have performed some upgrades earlier? Talk with the HP support. By the way, I am positive about random crashes strictly connected with high temperatures. This is caused when Graphic card just can't handle anymore. Try with newer graphic card drivers.
