Hello, all. I'm experiencing frequent lockups and freezes while working on my HP Pavilion, and I think they might be due to overheating. I'd like to confirm this before trying to figure out what to do next, so, my question is: What are the acceptable temperature ranges for this machine, with a CPU running at 3 GHz? Thanks in advance.

That does sound a little too high, though I'm not really familiar with the model. What are you using to measure these values? Is it the BIOS temp checker, or is this some in-system temperature monitoring software? If it's the former, I suggest you try the latter as well Smile It's better to measure temperatures for an active system as well as an idle one, and the BIOS monitor only gets you the idle temp.
