I need your help with solving my HDD space mystery. I have bought a new HD drive and I’ve recently noticed that the space is disappearing despite the fact that I’m not downloading anything. It’s almost creepy when I see that I have only 500Mb on a partition that has 10GB and I haven’t copied anything there. Any ideas what can be wrong?

Maybe there is a virus in your system! I know that certain viruses tend to multiply tremendously fast and no matter how often you delete the rubbish they make on your HDD, they create more than you can imagine. So, my advice is to run a good anti-virus program and after that, if you can’t eliminate the virus or Trojan, reinstall your system. That’s the only way to make sure that your system is virus free. And in the future, be careful to have the best virus protection if you want to avoid similar situations. Those viruses can be very dangerous not only because they eat up storage space. You may end up losing some very important data from your PC.
