Hello! I am running Win XP SP2 operating system and I have really strange problem. You see, sometimes I can normally boot system, but sometimes my hard drive is just not recognized. Generally speaking, hard drive one day works and one day is not recognized (I have IDE HDD). Have you any idea what cause of this problem could be?

Hello! This is very strange, I admit that. I suspect on IDE cable which connects motherboard and hard drive. Maybe this cable is not attached well or it is broken. I suggest you to check power supply unit, too. Maybe cable which connects power supply unit and hard drive is broken. Or could be that power supply is near ending of its useful life.
