You know, I have noticed that my hard drive has a slower response than other HDD from my friends computer machine. I am using Intel Celeron running at 1300 mhz. My hard drive is Quantum Fireball 20 gigabytes. He got Maxtor with 60 gigs on it, with celeron at 850 mhz, and his computer is working faster than mine. Is there something that I can do to speed it up a little bit? Thanks.

Yes there is. And there is only one method. You must buy faster drive. The old Quantum Fireball is working at 5400 rpm. While Maxtor with 40 and above works at 7200 rpm. That is really sensible difference. And you will notice dramatically improvements of the speed after upgrading the new HDD with more space on it. Anyway, for what are you using your machine? Those processors, those Celerons are very stable.
