Hey all! I’m having some troubles with my shared fat32 partition. I am a linux user and I wanted to copy a file to that shared fat32 partition but since it was mounted as read only, I had to force it to copy. Unfortunately after that the filenames were all messed up and when I rebooted, the drive could not be detected. I suppose I’ve crashed it somehow and I was wondering if it was possible to recover the data on it. Could anyone help me?

I’m not quite sure what happened to your machine – is it just one partition of your hd that’s disappeared or is it the whole drive? Still, there will be no harm done if you try running some of the data recovering software. My recommendation would be Runtime's GetDataBack but I think there are some other good programs too. PC Inspector might also help.
