I'm having some huuuge problems getting my dual boot (Win XP / SuSE 10) to work properly. I have exactly zero experience with dual OS systems, so I got some basic info off the net, and figured out that I need a boot loader to prevent Windows form overwriting my MBR every time I boot into it, thus cutting off Linux. I chose GRUB at random, but I apparently can't get it to work. Can someone with more experience guide me through the process, please?
BTW, what does GRUB stand for? Is it another self-recurring one, like GNU?

Well, it's kind of hard to do when you haven't stated what exactly the specific problem is. Here's a link to a general grub booting tutorial: http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/linux-tutorials-howtos-reference-material/9398-solving-boot-problems-grub-2nd-edition.html
Take your time, I know it’s lengthy but it’s also very well written IMO.
About the acronym, last I heard it meant "Grand Unified Bootloader", or some such.
