Good and reliable P2P File Sharing Software

Hello. I have recently installed broadband cable internet at my home and I would like to use P2P networks. I have heard many stories about viruses and fake files on these networks. Because I am a newbie with this I would like you to tell me about some good and reliable P2P file sharing software. Thank you for your patience.

In my opinion the best P2P file sharing protocol is torrent. You can use program like uTorrent for this network. You will rarely find fake files and viruses here and if you use some private trackers you will never find them. Drawback is that you can not find everything on torrent. You can use E-mule for rare files but here is a big chance you will run across fake files and viruses.
