Good Cleaner software?

Hello! I am running Windows XP SP2 operating system and I have some problems: some of my icons are invalid; I also have problems with registry files. My friend told me that I need to clean temporary files too. So, I am looking for some good cleaner software. I hope that you will be able to recommend me some. Thanks!
