| I would like to buy a new graphic card in next couple of days. I have relatively new configuration and it seems to me that it is pretty much the same which one will I buy, as long as it has a lot of RAM and is one of the latest models. However, I am not too experienced, so I would like to know is there any way some cards should not be compatible to some machines. Thanks in advance. |

| You are partially right. Graphic cards usually do not have compatibility issues with other components. However, you still need to be careful when buying them. Some cards are AGP, some PCI-E. These acronyms mean they can only be put in different types of slots on your motherboard. Some motherboards do not have PCI-E slot, so if you bought a card with that feat, you would be wasting your money and your time. Grab you motherboard manual and check what type of slots it has. If it has PCI-E, that is great, since these cards are generally better than the AGP ones. |
