Hello. I am about to install Gentoo Linux besides already installed Mandriva Linux. This is all on the same hard drive. I had no problems with the Mandriva, but Gentoo has asked me something about rebuilding the kernel, and I didnt knew how to answer, so I aborted the installation. Is there some more simplest way to install Gentoo or I pressed some wrong key? Thanks.
Hello. It seems that you dont know how to build or rebuild the kernel on your own. You have entered the genkernel preferences. You can freely continue from there I think, without messing anything with the kernel it self. Select the second option from Gentoo kernel choice to include the all needed modules to be mounted at the boot time. By the way, Gentoo is really hard for newbies to install. But, there is a lot written already to read about.
