Hello. I have upgraded my system from GeForce 7800 to 8800 GTS. Just because one game that gives me nothing but a headaches right now. I wonder how can I determine what is actually causing the system to crash after several minutes if that's not the heat. I can see the BSOD that blinks for a second, and restart right away. Especially when I am in a big WOW instance. Is this some driver issue, perhaps? I mean these chips are able to hold much more than 70 degrees, right? I have tracked the temperature.
Yes, I have heard the same thing about heat limit. The CPU heat dissipation is maybe responsible for this. What are you using? Athlon or Intel, and if Intel is about, which one? P4 D versions are damn fast, but hot as well. However, keep in mind about that card of yours as probably something more advanced than your computer case, I can bet. All you need is more space inside the computer case. Save some money if you can and upgrade your computer case to some Chieftec Dragon series. This kind of move will decrease your GPU temperature just like that.
