I have a problem with Gateway 4026GZ laptop. I can not see a thing when I power up computer. Screen is so dark like brightness is set to minimum. I have tried to reboot it few times but the problem persists. Few days ago my warranty period has expired and I am desperate. Can you tell me what to do?
That warranty period is a problem. Obviously backlight lamp has gone bad and you need to replace it. I am not very familiar with these laptops and I do not know if you have do replace only lamp or whole screen, but it will cost you at least 100 USD. Take you laptop to some technician and let him replace backlight lamp. After this your laptop will work as new.
