Gamecube just freezes at the start of the game

Hey all! My Game cube started giving me some trouble after not being used for some time. When I try playing games that I used to play before it just freezes immediately after the game loads. It started happening three days ago, when I turned it on after about three months of abstinence, and I don’t know what might have caused it since it was OK before that. What do you think I should do? Is there something I should try before going to a repair shop?

It may be that something’s wrong with your power supply but it’s not likely. Have you been adding some unlicensed products to your console? Sometimes various controllers may cause trouble. Try using another controller before you have it repaired (it can be really expensive, you know). You didn’t say which game causes this problem. If it’s just one game it may be that the disc is damaged. Try some other discs but if it fails to work properly with any of them you’ll have to have it examined.
