| There were whole bunch of free Internet programs that were popular in the past years. Some of those were ICQ, Kazaa and all sorts of messengers. However, one separated, and became the most popular software for Internet telephony among the whole Internet society. That software is Skype. First reason for its popularity is the simplicity of its installing. Second reason is that using a Skype to call another user, which also has Skype, is completely free. In addition, if you have at least 256 Kb connections it works great. The only thing, which is paying, is if you use Skype for calling a real telephone number, fixed or mobile. However, those charges are also greatly reduced. |
