| I am using a Nikon camera, usually for video streaming. I have connected it via firewire, although I have an USB as well. I cannot see any image on the screen. I cannot even is if the camera is connected. I click on the device manager and there I can see a Nikon icon. Is it working or not? I think that problem could actually be in the cable, you know, because USB is better. When I connect it via my USB, everything is fine. |

| Have you installed the drivers for your Nikon? System will report any new hardware, but sometimes it wont work without a driver. So check your device manager and see if there is a driver there. If not download it from your manufacturers site. Try to use the newest drivers because they can support wide range of systems and equipment. Firewire is called IEEE in windows, dont get confused if you dont find firewire sign. Can you see the message this device is working properly in your device manager? I recommend you to physically reinstall your camera, I mean if you have some card with it. If you dont succeed in any of these contact your tech support or see the troubleshooting section. I forgot to mention that IRQ conflict can cause your camera to fail, so check it in the control panel! Good Luck! What is the resolution of your Camera, can you record 30fps videos? |
