| There are other browsers beside Internet explorer and one of the most popular is Firefox. Does Firefox have less vulnerability to viruses then Internet explorer is questionable. Many users think that it is safer and even better. However, I personally do not think that because I am also spending much time on the Internet with explorer and I do not have any problems. You just need some reliable anti-virus protection like a combination of AVG and SpyBot. If you have Windows XP, you will also need SP 2 to be installed. All those things will not slow your machine much and will give you enough protection. About your problem with opening some web pages, I do not think that explorer is responsible for that. It could be, either, a problem with your provider or, which is more probably, those pages are infected and your anti-virus software or your firewall blocks your access to those pages. |
