I'm unable to play QT video in Firefox. On some web pages, when a QuickTime file attempts to load, only a blank picture with some green symbol is shown, and it says something like "click here to find plug-in". I do click there, and it searches and searches, but in the end says "Firefox was unable to locate the appropriate plug-in". I looked through the extensions site at mozilla.org and still couldn't find one. I should mention that I can play .mov files normally outside Firefox, using MPC. What do I do?

Well, the fact that you're using Media Player Classic tells me you probably don't have QuickTime installed. MPC is a substitute, and a very good one, but Firefox can't use it. You'll need to download QuickTime Player (or whatever it's called these days) manually from the web. The site should be apple dot something or other. In fact, that failed plug-in search window in Firefox should have a link to it.
