Hello. I have a problem with extremely slow Windows XP startup. It takes for about two minutes to XP to startup. I have Windows XP Professional edition with Service Pack 2 and all latest update. I am regularly updating antivirus and antispyware software and regularly performing scans for malicious software. Can you tell me what is causing such slowdowns?
Hello. If you are sure you do not have any malicious software on your computer then you must have many programs that are starting up together with Windows. When Windows boots up go to Start – run, type “msconfig” (without the quotes), click “Startup” tab and disable all programs except antivirus and antispyware software. Windows will boot significantly faster now.
