Hello! I have a problem with extreme fps drop while gaming. For instance, while playing Counter Strike Source for a while I have more then 100 fps, then frame rate suddenly drops to less then 20 fps. It stays like this for a minute or more and then get up again to 100 fps. It happens all the time. I am playing games on Toshiba Qosmio G30-10B and its specs should be more then enough to play games like this. Do you have any ideas about this?
Well, I am sorry to inform you that laptop computers are not exactly designed for extreme gaming. Although this laptop has more then enough power to run such games it also has problems with processor and video card cooling such as all other laptops. This frame rate drops you experience are caused by laptop built in functions to drop CPU working frequency when it gets to hot and thus preventing serious problems caused by CPU overheating.
