| Yesterday I bought external USB hard disk and it worked just fine. Since this morning, I have been experiencing some problem. When I want to shut it down my USB hard disk always reports error. I think that I, maybe, made an error with buying no name drive. What brand name will you recommend? Isn't external hdd safer then the internal? |

| First, I do not think that external HDD is safer then the internal. On the contrary, I think external HDD's are less safe because they are prone to physical damages. Also, I do not think that your problem is related with you drive manufacturer. You should check did you recently install some new driver or software that could cause your problem with disconnecting your USB drive. Maybe your drive just has some temporary problem. Because of that, you should try to reformat it once again. In addition, there is a possibility that you have some virus or adware that may cause your problem. Do a complete check of your machine. However, if you still want to buy another external USB drive I would personally recommend you WD. |
