I have a Sony Vaio laptop and a Linksys wireless access point that is connected to a Siemens PCMCIA card in my laptop. I have a very weak signal on my laptop and I’d like to improve it somehow. I’ve heard that there are some special antennas that might help me but I don’t know weather they will work with Linksys. And if they do, do I need one for both the wireless access point and PCMCIA? Any info would really be appreciated!
I think that these antenna boosters should work normally with Linksys. You should do a little google search on this and just choose the one you thin is best for you. I think that they usually cost about a 100$. Before that you may try different positioning with the existing antenna. I also think that some people make their own antenna boosters so maybe some of them might share their wisdom with us. I don’t think it’s that hard anyway but I’ve never thought about it a lot.
