A very strange thing happened to my computer! I cannot open any exe file! When I try to open it, I get a window with error: “Window cannot open this file… use program from list or use the web service…” like when I open unknown file type. Any chance of virus intrusion here?

Hello there! Yes, I’d say that this looks very much like a work of a virus, but this one is easily removed. Search the internet for exefix_xp program and download it, then run it. This should automatically edit your registry in order to fix them to handle executable files normally.
