My Ethernet card doesn't seem to work. It wasn’t detected at first, so I installed it manually, but the default drivers that Windows installs don't do it much good. So then I looked around on the internet (including the Gigabit site) but I couldn't find better drivers. I have no idea how to enable this hardware any more, and I'm running out of patience… Any help would be great…
Here's an obvious one: Did you enable the onboard LAN in the BIOS? Some motherboards have this option off by default, so that could be why Windows didn't detect it in the first place. If that's the case, it's also the reason why it's not functioning even though you added it manually. The BIOS settings you need to check should be somewhere under "peripherals".
