Error 0x8ddd0004 during Windows XP Update

Hello! I have problem updating Windows XP. When I visit Microsoft update web site I receive error saying that Windows update encountered an error and it is unable to display the requested page. In addition I can see "[Error number: 0x8DDD0004]" string. I have legal Windows XP that passed Genuine validation test. What am I going to do?

This is documented bug from Microsoft and detailed explanation can be found in their knowledge base article number 914224. I will explain you in short what to do. Stop the Automatic Updates service and BITS (which stands for the Background Intelligent Transfer Service). You can stop these services if you write services.msc in the Run dialog, find them in list of services and then stop them. After this step rename the SoftwareDistribution folder. The last step is to enable Automatic Updates and BITS services. According to Microsoft this should fix your problem.
