Hi! I have tried to install an old Epson scanner but I got some message about it not being compatible with WinXP. I have plugged it out and decided to buy a new scanner but I keep on getting this message again and again even though the scanner isn’t plugged in anymore. I suppose this might affect my future trying to install a new scanner. How can I get rid of this message?

It may be that some software has been installed before you got that message for the first time. I think that you should have first checked if this scanner was listed in the device manager before plugging it out. Perhaps you should plug it in again, open the device manager and if you find it you should remove it there first and then unplug it. I hope that this would help you.
