Well here’s the deal – my work is such that I need an almost always on connection – and I am travelling a lot. There are lots of public hotspots I can access, but some of them use WEP protection and this I cannot access. I know I need the code, I get the code, but seems I cannot use it for connecting. What can I do to enable my laptop WEP connecting?

In fact, several people I know had the same issue, not exactly with Toshiba, but, it doesn’t matter, anyway. The best solution is to buy some separate USB or PCMCIA wireless device. Integrated devices are often way too buggy, so buying an external device for couple of dozen bucks is not such a big deal, I think.
