| I have a Toshiba 1620 laptop and everything were fine. However, I found out that my COM2 port is not working. I simply cannot enable it. That is why I had to download a new version of BIOS from the manufacturer site. However, after I installed it, I don't have any sounds. My sound card is not recognized and I don't know why. |

| I suppose that you follow the complete instructions for updating the BIOS on your Toshiba 1620 laptop. If you do, first step was to make a backup copy of your old BIOS. In that case, find a procedure how to restore your old BIOS and do that first. If you will have the sound after that then you obviously have the wrong version of BIOS update for your laptop. You will have to find the right version for your laptop and install that version. You would have to pay attention not only to the type of Toshiba laptop, but also to the exact revision number for your type of laptop. The best place to find the updated BIOS would, most certainly, be your laptop manufacturer site. |
