I have been using the internet for a while and everything worked fine. However, since few months ago, I could not defend from all sorts of viruses. I even reinstalled Windows couple of times but it did not help me for a longer period. After a day or two on the Internet, whenever I enable popups - that is like I enable malwares. Should I consider replacing my IE?

There are other browsers beside the Internet explorer, like Netscape navigator, Mozila Firefox and Opera. Many users think that they are better and safer options then Explorer. However, I have to disagree with them. I am also on the Internet every day with Internet Explorer, and I do not have any problems. You just need some reliable anti-spyware software like SpyBot, and anti-virus software, like AVG. If you have Windows XP, you will also need Service Pack 2 to be installed. All those things will not slow your machine much and will give you enough protection. About popups, they are potential source of virus contamination so avoid them if you can.
