I have an nVidia FX 5500 video card which has a capability of using two monitors. I had to buy a second monitor because my work demands a lot bigger screen. I have connected second monitor but I am getting exactly the same picture on both monitors. When I open an application it opens on both monitors. This, definitely, is not what I had in mind. Can you help me with this?

Hello. You have set up your second monitor to work in Clone mode. There are second dual monitor setup which is called Extended and this one you need. When you set monitors in extended setup you will have a feeling of much larger monitor. You can try UltraMon utility which offers some advanced settings for dual monitors.
