| Hello. I have heard that you can use DOS partition together with a NTFS drive. I am asking this because I need DOS, and I am using Windows XP. I need DOS because of my accountant program. It is old, but works well. And because I am about to start working from home from now on, I wont be able to use old office computer, where everything is settled with the Win 98. Is there any way? Thanks. |

| Yes there is, you can bring your office computer to your home! I am just kidding. Well, here is the way. You can do it by creating so called dual-boot system with the DOS as the primary system and XP as another. Yes, the DOS is operating system. But in order to work fine and to boot properly, you must first create FAT16 file system as the C partition, and the XP on the Logical or secondary, whatever, because DOS in other way, wont work. This is the only way to set up the NTFS and DOS together, if that is what you want. Which means you must delete your current OS, delete the NTFS you are using now, and create new FAT16 partition, and after that, perform a new clean install of XP, on another drive or partition. |
