Whenever I open a word document, I keep getting the warning message about insecure macros and viruses. I just click it off and access the document, but it's getting irritating. Why is it popping out even on opening the simplest documents, which contain no macros whatsoever? How can I stop it from doing this? I don't want to just leave it completely off and expose my system to viruses. Thanks in advance.

Check your document security settings by going Tools / Options / Security / Macro Security. In the "security level" tab, see if it's the maximum protection level. If so, try lowering it a notch or two. Then, go to the "trusted sources" tab and make sure the "trust all installed add-ins" check box is checked. That should make Word a little more lenient regarding macros, but still not really vulnerable. I hope this helps.
