| Hello. I am wondering, is there any sense for using this very old crap of a hardware? I mean it barks when you start up the machine....., quick change of temperature can kill floppy disks very well ...., only 1,4 mb of space,.... I mean USB flash drives are going up to 16 GB, yikes! And 99 of them are bootable. So, I am wondering, who does and who doesnt, and why? |

| Well, there are several more reasons, why we should have that in our computers. For example, mine is disabled from BIOS, but not disconnected physically. Why? Because of your so called barking, LOL! But I had to enable it just because one program, which was asking for verification after install, and there is no other way to verify, than through floppy drive. Also, there are still some security based programs, that require your floppy drive to work. I cant say that I know for more reasons. You have mentioned flash drives, and I am just wondering, when shall floppy drive will be replaced with USB completely? |
