Hello! I am planning to upgrade my processor. Currently I have Athlon XP 2800+ and I will buy Athlon Dual Core X2 3800+. Regarding the fact that manufacturer is same for both processors, will I need to change my motherboard. Please, tell me that I do not need, because I have bought motherboard recently! I am thanking you in advance!

Hello! It is same manufacturer for both processors – that is correct. But, still you will need to change your motherboard already and I will explain you why now: your Athlon XP 2800+ uses Socket A on your motherboard. If you want to plug it to your motherboard you will need AM2 slot and this slot your motherboard does not have.
