I have a computer for a whole year now. Everything worked fine until few days ago. Now my PS shuts down with button only. I can restart it or send it in stand by from the Windows. However, when I try to turn it of it just could stay in that position forever. A friend told me that it is all about sectors and clusters. Why he thought that? Also, my disk can only be FAT formatted.

If that worked before and now it is not, there are only two possible reasons for that. First reason is that your hard drive may have some problem. Every hard drive has two copies of FAT. That can happen when your copies of FAT are not the same. To solve that use Scandisk. You can find it either in your System tools or in properties of your drives. You can find them in Accessories group. If that will not help then your operating system is damaged. You should try to uninstall all drivers and softwares that you were installing in the last couple of days. Check can you turn it off from time to time. If nothing of that helps you, you will have to reinstall your complete operating system.
