Disk Cleaner is a good software

Hi there. I need some software to clean hard drive from junk files. I have not done this before and I have this computer for over two years. A friend recommended me to clean hard drive and told me that it will free a lot of space on hard drive. I heard about Disk Cleaner. Is it a good software for this?
