I have recently bought an iPOD. I am very satisfied with it and I do not intend changing it any time soon. However, I have one problem. I know there is a procedure to safely disconnect an iPDD, but I do not know it. I would hate it if something got ruined. Thanks in advance for any suggestion.

Indeed there is a procedure to disconnect an iPod and it is very important, because wrong move could damage the files on the iPOD as well as on hard disk. First of all, no program associated with iPod can be running. Quit every program that has anything to do with it. You also need to eject before disconnecting, and by no means ever neglect 'do not disconnect' sign. Other than these measures of precaution, the rest is not too complicated. There is one excellent guide to it at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum61135. and I am sure you will find it helpful. Best of luck.
