Hello. I have noticed that there are DVD – and DVD + discs. I am using DVD + almost always and I noticed existence of DVD – only when I accidentally purchased these discs. And that is the only difference I was able to notice between them. I have burned this disc normally and it worked after that. What is the difference between DVD + and - RW discs?

Hi. DVD–RW is a standard developed by Pioneer and used mostly by Pioneer and Apple. DVD+RW is a standard format supported by Sony, Philips, Microsoft etc and is more widely used. Main difference between these two standards is ability of DVD+RW discs to be written in several layers which gives them possibility for larger capacity (dual layer). DVD-RW discs do not have this ability. They can be written only in one layer.
