I have heard about this new Apple gadget, but I don't know anything about it except from some promo material. I assume it is great! I am considering to buy it. Does anyone have some first hand experience with Macintosh TV which he is willing to share with me? Should I get this gadget or not?

Hi. I have Macintosh TV, and my feelings are mixed. First, if you like to watch DivX or have a lot of backed up DVDs then you can safely forget about it. Also there are some other issues that bug me from time to time like its inability to synchronize with other machines and photocasting. The worst thing (at least for me ) is the 4GB file limit and 5Mbs bitrate limit. On the other hand, if you are an ITunes fan then Macintosh TV is just perfect for you. You can just plug it in and it works. Interface is extremely intuitive and easy so anyone can use it. So, if you dont care about aforementioned shortcomings or about some complex media manipulation there is no better and easier way to get content from your computer to TV then Apple TV.
Regarding, should have or not, you'll have to decide by yourself.
