I have a lot of desktop shortcuts on my screen. It is because I frequently put some documents and different stuff on my desktop, and when it become overloaded with icons I have to spend some time clearing the mess up. I know that there is a feature in Windows XP to do it automatically for me, some kind of desktop shortcuts cleanup, but I don’t know where it is. Can you help me find where is the control for this?

This is pretty simple thing. When you right-click your desktop, in the drop-down menu choose properties item. On Desktop tab of the window, select Customize Desktop button. There you have the option to Clean Desktop Now , which will run Desktop Cleanup Wizard immediately, or you can select check box which indicate to Run Desktop Cleanup Wizard every 60 days. I think this will not run the Wizard, but will actually ask you if you want to perform the operation every 60 days. I am glad if this was helpful. |
