I've been using Win DVD as my DVD media player for a while now, but it has some minor issues that have been annoying me all this time. So, I'm planning to switch to a different player now, and I'm looking for some recommendations. I've heard good things about Power DVD and NDVD, what do you guys think?

Decent choices both, but commercial software if I'm not mistaken. You've got a number of options in the freeware zone, so you could try Media Player Classic, or maybe VLC. There's something to be said for the K-Lite codec pack as well, which is what I've got with MPC; it's covering all my DVD needs. Check out videohelp.com for more information.
