DVD RW cannot detect Audio CDs

Hello. I have NEC DVD drive. It was working fine for a long time but now it can not detect Audio CDs. I have tried various Audio CDs with no luck. DVD just doesn’t recognize them and acts like no CD is inserted. This is very annoying and I would really like to know how to fix this problem. If you have any suggestions, please tell me.

Hi. Have you tried some other CD type? Let’s say with data. Because if data CDs are not working also, then lenses for reading CD media are probably broken or dirty. You can try to clean them but do not use cleaning CDs. They can do more harm then they can help. Open device and clean it carefully with cloth and alcohol. If lenses are broken then you will have to buy new DVD.
