| I have a pioneer 108D DVD+rw burner and I am using pinnacle DVD burning program. When I try to burn movies, pioneer wont read blank DVD-s. It just says no medium inserted. I have installed Sisoft Sandra, and it said that everything is okay! The problem is not in the Pioneer, because I can watch movies and listen to cds. I also tried different types of DVD. Verbatim, Princo, TraxDataI have never experienced this kind of a problem before with. It worked fine till now. I thought it might be a driver issue, so I reinstalled it. Anybody else have any idea? |

I have the exact same problem with my Pioneer DVD burner. It use to work great for about a year, only now it wont find the disc in the drive and therefore wont burn it. Im looking for a firmware update. Maybe the problem with your drive is lens. Have you tried a cleaning disc to see if the laser has something on it? You can easily destroy lens by putting dirty CD-s inside, did you known that?
My OS is Windows 2000. What is yours? Check the cables within your case. Both IDE and power cable. Be careful when you unplug it, you can damage pins on the drive. Why are you using pinnacle software? I dont understand, NERO is very cheap, and it works well for me. Ok, pinnacle has some other functions, and maybe you didnt bought it for burning, but NEROs main goal is burning, so it is logical that is better.
