I have a problem that is bothering me for more than two weeks and I’d really appreciate some help with it. I am using a DLink Airplus Extreme G router and I am wired directly into it through a cable. I have another computer which is connected wirelessly. Every 15 minutes I get a pop up saying that my network cable isn’t plugged in. It will reconnect again after some time usually, but yesterday it disconnected and did not reconnect again at all. I don’t know what’s wrong with my computer and I need some help with this ASAP. Should I perhaps contact my ISP? Thanks a lot in advance!
The message you’re getting says you have a network problem and is not related to your internet connection. In fact it is a router problem and has nothing to do with your ISP so there’s no need to call them. I think that this could be caused by MAC filtering. Is it turned on? If it is, try turning it off and see if this helps. I hope it will. And just use WPA for your wireless security. I’ve also heard that modems sometimes have heating issues if they’re directly on the ground so if that’s the case with you modem, try moving it.
