Hello, I'm having problems with my ATI Radeon 9600 graphic card. It's a bit old, and wasn't handling some of the newer games I tried very well, so I thought I'd try a driver update. Never did that before, well, not for the card at least. I used the Catalyst tool/program/thing to do this, but when I installed and restarted, I was in 2546 colors! Windows told me it couldn't detect any drivers, or that they were improperly installed! I tried repeating the process, but there was no change. What am I doing wrong? Please help ASAP.

Here we go again … the most common problem with ATi drivers is due to the fact that they don't take kindly to being installed on top of their previous versions. Each time you update, you need to remove ALL the drivers first, BEFORE installing the new ones. There is a number of tools used for this, some official and some not, I suggest you google for "Driver Cleaner" and take it from there.
