Hello! I am starting to learn basic things about computers and I am telling you this in case that my question is too stupid. When I open Word, my cursor despisers and instead of it I can see only blinking line. Is this normal or maybe my operating system Windows XP Pro is infected. I am thanking you in advance!

Hello! There is no stupid question on the whole the world. Actually, that what you see in Word is still cursor, just it is not in arrow shape, but like line. You will see in some other programs other shapes of cursors. They will look like hand, or send clock You should not be worried about this. After sometime you will know almost everything.
